Sword of Xolan oozes with old-school, pixel art style

There won't be an end to game developers releasing pixel-art platformer games simply because old geeks love them. They bring a sense of nostalgia to anyone who started with games on Atari, Game & Watch, or the Nintendo Entertainment System. There's something special about games like 'Sword of Xolan' that gamers my age love. It must be the old-school simplicity that brings us back to childhood.

This action game is heavy on the pixel art style, no doubt. Xolan is a hero who needs to fight for justice in this epic adventure set in a world where peace is unknown. This brave, young man fighting for victory against the darkness needs your help to finish all 30 well-handcrafted adventure levels. If you're up to the challenge (and if you have time to spare), there are about nine time-based levels you can finish. Be prepared to meet those three "End of Act" bosses you're about to encounter.

Sword of Xolan features customizable touch controls for an easy gameplay and an original soundtrack by Burak Karakaş that will definitely get you going on every play. To finish the game faster, you can improve the main character's skills by using those ten unique game cards you can collect along your journey.

Game is free to download but in-app items are offered. It also allows controller support but no mention what kind or model exactly.
