LG K7 budget smartphone in the works, specs leaked
After the LG V10, LG Class (LG Zero), and LG Ray, the other South Korean giant is preparing another smartphone. It's not another mid-range or high-end phone but one low-end unit that will be distributed in the United States possibly by T-Mobile. Rumor has it that an LG K7 is almost ready but the company will have to wait for 2016 to release the phone.
The entry level device is codenamed as 'M1' and it comes equipped with a 5-inch display, 480 x 854 FWVGA resolution, a 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage, 5MP front camera, 5MP selfie shooter, and an unknown battery. The setup of cameras are intriguing because they're actually the same with 5 megapixels each.
T-Mobile is believed to carry the low-end Android smartphone. It's within the budget phone category so we can also say it's going to cost below $200 or maybe even below $150. The specs may not be premium but they are good enough if you are looking for your first entry-level smartphone. Parents may also consider this to give to their children.
LG makes great phones so we're sure that even if it's a budget phone, the device will offer a great mobile experience. Just don't expect too much when it comes to speed or performance as the LG K7 will be very limited. Unfortunately, still no word on pricing and exact availability.

Samsung W2016 flip phone now launched in China, 3GB RAM in tow
There were speculations about the name of this new android clamshell phone from Samsung – people were saying it will be the Galaxy Golden 3 when it showed in China’s TENAA. The phone has just been officially launched in China, but it is named the Samsung W2016. Seems like the Korean gadget giant is confident that this number coded name will not hinder the sales of the new retro-type Android phone.
So the Samsung W2016 has dual displays – it has one 3.9-inch WXGA (1024x768) Super AMOLED display on the normal side of a clamshell phone, but it also has one same-sized display on the top side when the clamshell is closed, which is normally the back of the regular screen. We don’t yet know how the functionality of the outside screen works, but the images point to it being used as a clock, a media output (movie or video) display, or even one to play games on. Logic will say that it can be used like a regular touchscreen, but we will have to see if Samsung put some restrictions via its TouchWiz interface.
The phone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset, supported by a generous 3GB RAM. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop underneath TouchWiz, and has support for 4G LTE, dual SIMs, and wireless charging/fast charging for its small-ish 2,000mAh battery. The phone also has a 16MP main camera and a 5MP selfie shooter.
The phone is aesthetically gorgeous, made with metal and glass. The color options are classic, in metallic grey and gold. Hold on for the pricing – at this point, it will supposedly retail in China for around USD$1,565. Are you ready to shell out that kind of money when this baby gets international?

Lenovo rolls out new Chromebook 100S
If you happen to be at the IFA grounds in Berlin, you'll be able to see and maybe get your hands on some of Lenovo's newest products. Aside from the Vibe P1 recently caught in the wild and the Yoga 3 8-inch tablet, Lenovo has a new Chrome OS-powered laptop for us: the Lenovo Chromebook 100S.
The new Chromebook from Lenovo is designed for the cloud with fast WiFi speed. The company is adding free 100GB of free storage on Google Drive for a couple of years. And since this laptop doesn’t run heavy applications, you can expect longer battery life. It can last up to eight hours on a single charge so you can be more productive and be able to finish your tasks without any interruption.
Specs of the Lenovo Chromebook 100S include an 11.6-inch HD screen (also available in 14-inch), 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, Intel Celeron N2840 processor, Intel graphics, max of 4G RAM, 1 megapixel HD front camera, dual digital microphone, and up to 32GB internal storage. The Lenovo Chromebook weighs only 1.2 kgs (2.6 lbs).
The new Lenovo notebook computer is powered by Google’s very own Chrome OS so you get the basic built-in protection, Voice Search, fast booting, online or offline work mode, and of course, easy synchronization with Android smartphones and tablets. Synching lets you access your stuff from anywhere even without your Chromebook. Just make sure you are signed in to your Google account when working and are connected to the Internet.
As for pricing, the 11.6-inch Chromebook is very affordable at only $189 while the 14-inch version will go for $259--still affordable. No information on exact availability but Lenovo said it'll be out just in time for the Holiday season.

Scribbled Arena is multiplayer tank PvP, with good old drawn maps
How many ways can you execute a tank head-to-head combat game? Not a whole lot, we would think. There are a lot of multiplayer tank battle games in the Google Play Store, so the key to winning the “battle” – as it were – to get noticed is in the details. Scribbled Arena, as the name of the game suggests, does this through nostalgia.
Scribbled Arena is a good old multiplayer, cross-platform tank battle, but the novelty of it is that the artwork mimics your elementary school days when you drew your maps with a ballpoint pen or a pencil. So as a player, you choose your tank and jump into these seemingly hand-drawn maps and battle other players. Multiplayer games have three different modes: One-on-One Deathmatch, Capture the Trophy, and Coin Collection Crusade. Pretty self-explanatory, these modes.
Quite interestingly, there are a number of single player modes as well: Practice Arena, Infiltration, and Defend Your Base. Defend Your Base is a lot like a tower defense mode where you defend your base from oncoming waves of enemies. Infiltration is the exact opposite – you get to do the attacking.
The game can be picked up for free via the Google Play Store – check our download link below for that to start gaming. There are IAPs that you can buy to get ahead in the game, but you can finish the game without spending real money.

Rockchip develops Light Work OS, mimics Windows OS
Manufacturers of tablet devices are trying to beat the drop and looking for features that can give them an edge in a cutthroat tablet market. One of Rockchip’s solutions could be an effective, if not necessarily an original one – that is, offer an Android version that mimics Windows OS so that it can become more “work friendly”. The result is what the Taiwan-based chipmakers call “Light Work OS”, and it is set to be featured in a tablet device soon.
The Light Work OS is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but it’s the unique features that might give devices that run it an edge over the competition. The OS features a “start button” feature, a taskbar, and apps running in windows that can be repositioned anywhere on the screen. We suppose it has some sort of multi-tasking capabilities – multiple apps opened simultaneously in multiple windows – quite like the Remix OS.
The first tablet set to feature Light Work OS will reportedly be the Pipo P9 tablet. This device features a Rockchip RK3288 processor (of course), and a 10.1 inch 1920x1200 display, supported by 2GB RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. It sounds like a capable device, to be sure.
The only problem is that, most apps – even for Android Lollipop – are not optimized to run in a multi-window, multi-tasking environment. We don’t even Android devices’ hardware elements are optimized for that. So we will just have to see how Light Work OS will execute this.

OPPO R5s announced, still very lightweight and slim at 4.85mm
The OPPO R5 was made official October last year and now it has a follow-up in the form of the OPPO R5s. The addition of "s" only means a number of improvements or enhancements to the device that's been tagged as one of the sleekest and slimmest smartphones in the market today. Still measuring 4.85 mm like the R5, the OPPO R5s is better and faster with its 3GB RAM, 1.5 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, and 32GB internal storage.
Smartphone also features the same 5.2-inch AMOLED Full HD display screen, 13 megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX214 lens, f/2.0 aperture, LED flash, 5 megapixel front-facing cam, a 2000 mAh battery, Fast Charge Technology, WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB port, and 4G LTE connectivity. There's still no microSD card slot so forget about storage expansion for now.
What makes the R5s more special than the R5? Well, internal storage can be as much as 32GB compared to last year's 16GB. It's still the same thin smartphone that doesn't compromise quality even if it's very affordable at only $226. Phone was first sighted at Oppo's european website bearing the same design as the R5.
If you may remember, a video of an Oppo R5 smashing some items was shown to prove how strong the phone was. We hope to see a similar video featuring the new Oppo R5s, answering the same question: Will it smash? Since the same Aerospace Grade Material was used for the Oppo R5s, we already know this one is really tough.
