Scribbled Arena is multiplayer tank PvP, with good old drawn maps

How many ways can you execute a tank head-to-head combat game? Not a whole lot, we would think. There are a lot of multiplayer tank battle games in the Google Play Store, so the key to winning the “battle” – as it were – to get noticed is in the details. Scribbled Arena, as the name of the game suggests, does this through nostalgia.

Scribbled Arena is a good old multiplayer, cross-platform tank battle, but the novelty of it is that the artwork mimics your elementary school days when you drew your maps with a ballpoint pen or a pencil. So as a player, you choose your tank and jump into these seemingly hand-drawn maps and battle other players. Multiplayer games have three different modes: One-on-One Deathmatch, Capture the Trophy, and Coin Collection Crusade. Pretty self-explanatory, these modes.

Quite interestingly, there are a number of single player modes as well: Practice Arena, Infiltration, and Defend Your Base. Defend Your Base is a lot like a tower defense mode where you defend your base from oncoming waves of enemies. Infiltration is the exact opposite – you get to do the attacking.

The game can be picked up for free via the Google Play Store – check our download link below for that to start gaming. There are IAPs that you can buy to get ahead in the game, but you can finish the game without spending real money.

Rockchip develops Light Work OS, mimics Windows OS

Manufacturers of tablet devices are trying to beat the drop and looking for features that can give them an edge in a cutthroat tablet market. One of Rockchip’s solutions could be an effective, if not necessarily an original one – that is, offer an Android version that mimics Windows OS so that it can become more “work friendly”. The result is what the Taiwan-based chipmakers call “Light Work OS”, and it is set to be featured in a tablet device soon.

The Light Work OS is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but it’s the unique features that might give devices that run it an edge over the competition. The OS features a “start button” feature, a taskbar, and apps running in windows that can be repositioned anywhere on the screen. We suppose it has some sort of multi-tasking capabilities – multiple apps opened simultaneously in multiple windows – quite like the Remix OS.

The first tablet set to feature Light Work OS will reportedly be the Pipo P9 tablet. This device features a Rockchip RK3288 processor (of course), and a 10.1 inch 1920x1200 display, supported by 2GB RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. It sounds like a capable device, to be sure.

The only problem is that, most apps – even for Android Lollipop – are not optimized to run in a multi-window, multi-tasking environment. We don’t even Android devices’ hardware elements are optimized for that. So we will just have to see how Light Work OS will execute this.

OPPO R5s announced, still very lightweight and slim at 4.85mm

The OPPO R5 was made official October last year and now it has a follow-up in the form of the OPPO R5s. The addition of "s" only means a number of improvements or enhancements to the device that's been tagged as one of the sleekest and slimmest smartphones in the market today. Still measuring 4.85 mm like the R5, the OPPO R5s is better and faster with its 3GB RAM, 1.5 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, and 32GB internal storage.

Smartphone also features the same 5.2-inch AMOLED Full HD display screen, 13 megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX214 lens, f/2.0 aperture, LED flash, 5 megapixel front-facing cam, a 2000 mAh battery, Fast Charge Technology, WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB port, and 4G LTE connectivity. There's still no microSD card slot so forget about storage expansion for now.

What makes the R5s more special than the R5? Well, internal storage can be as much as 32GB compared to last year's 16GB. It's still the same thin smartphone that doesn't compromise quality even if it's very affordable at only $226. Phone was first sighted at Oppo's european website bearing the same design as the R5.

If you may remember, a video of an Oppo R5 smashing some items was shown to prove how strong the phone was. We hope to see a similar video featuring the new Oppo R5s, answering the same question: Will it smash? Since the same Aerospace Grade Material was used for the Oppo R5s, we already know this one is really tough.
